I don't know, Erin ... there's just nothing that really grabs my attention. Too dark, maybe? Lightened and more sepia-ish might work?

I've checked out your website and there are some truly fantastic images there, but this one is just a little lifeless.

For me, the sepia doesn't work too well. I think a nice B&W treatment could be cool though.

Divergent focal points from the tree line and the dock. They wander off to different points that have nothing to show. The eye is trapped between two points with no "interest" at that point

Different angle, maybe? Could lightening or B+W do this? May bring out the opposite bank more.

I think that hits the nail right on the head....its the white space in the upper left hand corner that just didnt sit right....and cropping it to eliminate it doesnt work...

Thanks for the comments...I was trying something out of my "style"...I dont think its me...but hey, gotta try it..;)

Thanks!!

I really like what Ann has done to this with the cropping and sepia tone. The original was a good photo technically but not artisticly in my estimation. More of a family rememberance. There just wasn't anything there to grab a persons attention. Ann has done a great job of reworking it. Good eye! I'm going to have to sit down and figure out curves.
