Whats going on with this car? Did it catch on fire? They push head gaskets out and the oil and fuel make a nasty fire.

My impression is a mismatch in panning speed with most of them. The shot of John is the sharpest one. The rest seem to show horizontal movement relative to the camera. I'm not saying I could do better though. I'm a novice! ;)

Nice. I'll go this year and get my first crack at shooting these monster cars! Hope I can hold onto the damn camera when the ground and stands are shaking!

Thanks for the comments guys. I always have a hard time with shooting these pics as I see most of the race through the viewfinder. As far as the mismatch in panning speed and the sharpness of Force's car, you will notice that he has a cylinder out (if you're a true drag racing fan) and the front of the car is centimeters from the ground which show his car slowed down substantially instead of accellerating ;).

I used them all in AI Servo.

I switched between 1/640 and 1/500 as the clouds moved in and out.
