I like it - especially with the sea gulls and ice/snow

Inevitably someone will suggest you straighten the horizon. I think the gulls make it work in this case.

That lake is really running downhill....someone better build a dam before the lake runs dry. ha. Seriously, You really need to pay attention to the horizon with water shots and this one is way off. Also, I have a hard time finding a subject. I guess it is the birds, but there is not enough detail in them to hold my interest. If the shot is of the birds then try to keep things like buildings and water towers out of the bakcground. They are really distracting and remove the nature feeling to a photo. The big empty sky adds nothing to the shot as well. Sorry, the shot just does nothing for me.

I suggest you straighten the horizon.
It is a distraction in an otherwise very compelling photo.

Ok, I'm a complete hack at Photoshop (but I'm keen to learn). So anyway, I took your photo, straightenend the horizon, changed the levels a bit, did some sharpening and some colour alteration.
Let me know what you think of this altered version?

After uploading last pic thought the colours were a bit dark, looked underexposed so a slight change here...

Dan,
Nice pic. Did you do any sharpening in PS?
Also, consider:
Rotating by about 2.5 degrees
Increasing brightness and contrast just a touch
A small increase in saturation (I like the original colors, so personally I would't add much)

I just wish the two outer gulls were ever so slightly higher so they didnt fall into the overwhelmingness of the lake. Other than that, stunning shot - def like it with the horizon straightened and colours intensified

it does nothing for me. I'm not sure what your subject is. The sea gulls or the ice. The sea gulls are blurred, faster shutter speed would help there. Nothing interesting is really happening in the photo.
