I did a search of this forum, and haven't seen this problem mentioned. I'm trying to get the EOS software installed and each time I try (no matter what program, off the CD or from a copied file on a hard drive) the install terminates with a message saying the a file transfer was interupted, so the install was not completed. It goes long enough to look like it's doing just fine before this happens.

I have Windows XP Pro on a dual processor system. I am using the Admin account, and have removed all other software from the background and still no dice. It did install with no hicups on my wife's Windows XP Home computer.

I've never had this kind of trouble before. Anyone have an idea? I can't find any kind of log to tell me what file is involved, except the msiinstaller.

Thanks,
Mike
Oops, I don't know how I got this posted in post processing and printing! I hadn't even seen this section yet!

Sound like the driver that they send with the eos disc is not up to date for you computer and the program is timing out try to recognize the file. Go to canons web page and down load the new drivers. Hope that helps if not more info on the problem and what you did.

Hm. Not sure I agree that a driver could cause this problem, but in any case, I already thought of that one! LOL I can't even get the drivers to load. I have a lot of unnecessary system services disabled on my computer, whereas my wife has everything at default value. I changed mine to enable everything as well and that didn't work either. Strange.

Update:
It finally occured to me that the failed installs were likely to leave some garbage behind in the registry. I cleaned out the registry using one of Norton's tools, and lo and behold, the software is installed!
