tonight i was playing with my bee- i always have it connected to my 5d with a sync cord and snap away no problems. tonight it kept misfiring on me, i would have to pull out the sync cord then put it back in to get it to fire. very strange....

any ideas?

I have a similar thing with Skyports. When I plug it into one of my bees, it will fire but it turns off my skyport and I have to turn it on again. The other light works fine so I just plug the skyport into that one.

Git yerself one of these:

Garden variety PC connectors suck. Screwlock PC connectors work.

think im going to just go wireless.. tossed between the alien bee ones or the pocket wizard- big price difference..

Wireless is good, as long as you avoid the el cheapo Chinese stuff.
But get a good sync cord for backup.

Unless you want the features of the PW MultiMax units, you might get a better bang for the buck with an AB CyberSync than a PW Plus II. The only advantage the Plus II would give you is the ability to serve as a remote camera trigger while remotely triggering remote flashes with the same unit whereas other brand would require a separate transmitter unit and a receiver unit to do the same thing.

I'm happy with the CyberSyncs. Can't complain at all!
