Version 2.0 came with my 20D and I'm wondering if I should bother installing it. I will soon upgrade to 3.0, but will need to wait till the weekend to drive to the nearest mac store to buy a copy. I'm bored and want to work with some pics I took, but not at the expense of a difficult upgrade process.

Any one upgrade recently with some advice? Does it copy file structures over automatically?

thanks,

Over the years i have used a lot of image processing programs , depending on how deep you want to go into manipulating your pics IMHO elements2 is ideal. User friendly and doesn,t take ages to load . Why don,t you load your free software try it for a couple weeks and see how you get on then uninstall if you are not happy .

The upgrade from 2 to 3 went very smoothly for me (PC version). The catalog is converted to its new format automatically and a copy is saved of the old one should you ever need it. PSE3 is head and shoulders above the previous versions and worth the relatively inexpensive upgrade cost.

Adobe also has a 30 day full functioning try out for Elements 3 that you can download to try before you buy.

What rfreschner said - only for Mac.
No issues, much improved application in version 3. Instal your free one and upgrade at leisure.

Also 2.0 and 3.0 will reside in separate directories. One won't "overwrite" the other. You can have both versions on the same machine at the same time. However, I hear you can't have both up and running at the same time.

Just my opinion, ok, but if I were you I would run, not walk, to get 3.0. It's well worth it. (I don't know if Adobe is still offering it, but I got $20 off 3.0 because I had a registered version of 2.0. Worth checking out).
