10D Problem

The last time I used my camera . I had a problem with the shutter release & focus point. The button would not press down but when it did, instead of holding the focus when half pressing, the red focus light just kept flashing and beeping. It would not stay focused. This is only something that happened occasionally throughout the day, not all the time. The battery pack indicates plenty of life so is there a problem with the camera and has anyone experienced this?

Are you sure the lense is set to AF... sometimes if the switch is partially towards MF you can get some weird results.

It sounds to me like it could be a physical problem with the power button. I'd take it to a local camera store, ask them, and quite possibly get it sent to Canon to be repaired.

i know someone with a similar thing happening, focus kept hunting and locking etc... turned out to be a defective lens (28-135)
