Sorry for the dumb question...
I did not get a chance to see or work with any radio transmitter and would like to buy Cybersync. I do not have the Allien Bees, but Adorama monolights, and would like to use receivers for 580EX II.
The receivers come in two options :
AC or Battery powered (http://www.alienbees.com/cybersyncplus.html#csrbplus)
What is more convenient option?
Are the batteries expensive?
How ofter do I need to replace the battery?
And I would need another AC cord for the AC receiver, right?

the batteries seem to last quite a while... I've had mine since December - use them quite often and havent had to replace the included stock batteries yet.

I would strongly recommend the battery powered units.
The Cybersync receivers use AA batteries - you probably care a bunch of those anyway and they last an amazingly long time. The transmitters take a small button battery that is available at most drug store here in the states and sells for under $5. I carry an extra in my bag but in nearly a year have not had to use it. The original factory batteries are still going strong but admittedly not a lot of use lately.

Agree with others, battery powered ones.

The only reason to get the A/C powered units (that I can see) is for situations where the 1 hour auto-shut off would be a major inconvenience and turning the units on after would be inconvenient. I recently traded for an A/C powered unit (and am looking for one more) because I use mine for indoor youth sports and often have my lights in places that are difficult to reach and just plugging in the extension cord is very convenient as apposed to crawling up and pushing the test button.

May be I'll take one battery receiver for the flash gun,
and one more for monolight, cause I cannot use without power anyway, right?

I would still get both of them as battery units. They're so much more convenient.
I actually have 4 battery receivers and 1 A/C unit. If I only had two, they would both be battery units.

I would get the battery ones. Unless you NEVER take them out of the studio. Then I def would suggest the plug-in ones. Not that you cant take them out of a studio, just there are not to many places to plug in once you leave the studio.
I want both. I want a plug-in for each studio head. So I dont have to ever change a battery. And some battery ones for the speedlights. I have been waiting for the new Radio Popper JrX to come out, but we will see what happens.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but do you guys/gals leave your battery in the receiver or take them out? I'm scared to leave the batteries in because it'll drain the battery from the blinking light. Or does it go into sleep mode?

It powers down after 1 hour of inactivity.
