I've been invited to shoot in my buddy's band this friday. they've rented a bunch of black lights. I'm curious if anyone has any experience similar to this.
What kind of gear should i bring with me? Im' thinking of putting a 50 1.8 on my XSi; i'll lug my 24-105 f/4L with me. unfortunately i have nothing wider.. (perhaps i'll find a 17-40L for that day too)

err.....should be interesting to say the least...i have no idea how black light will effect yr metering or image rendering. i've shot w/ LED stage lighting and that can be a mess...

The only group I know who use black lights is Blue Man Group, so I did a quick search on flickr to find some "illegal" shots (they don't allow cameras in to their theatre shows)
Non of these pics I found were taken with DLSRs.... but this is what you might expect....
Also, just search flickr for Black Light, and see what you get.... could be interesting. I personally would like to see the results.

I happened to photograph bowling in black lights this week. It's WYSIWYG.

haha... WYSIWYG .. that's my thought on the issue too...
I'm not sure how interesting the shots would be then - it'd be like monochromatic. the t-shirts and the clothes that people will light up; but due to a lack of other lights, there'll be a lack of definition of depth.... *shrugs*.
I'll try to get some shots up if i end up going.
