:) I am being bad again....
I just ordered a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 .. from Onecall.com.
It is being shipped out as we speak, and we be in my hands on Friday. lol ... Am I a trip or what. lol ???? ~!!!!!
Anyhow, I have always been impressed with the images that I have seen on pbase, the quality/detail/sharpness.. It's what I like.
My 18-55 really isn't good for the potraits, I often find myself getting bland looking images that aren't crisp, and showing much detail..
So this will be my midrange, and the 18 mainly my wide angle.
I hope to do some shots with it this weekend for funs sake.

Mr. Photoguy
You'll love it. Excellent lens without a doubt. Sharp and no CA at all.

sweet, I am glad. I needed a sharp midrange. At 55mm the kit lens is just to short, and also soft.
I was also looking at pbase images, markubig's images, and I really liked the image results from the lens.
My next move is either a 300 f4IS, or the 400 5.6... but that is not till 2 grand more has made it into my bank account ... lol..

I have my doubts about onecall. I ordered the exact same lens from them and lets just say I would assume they sell the returned lenses as new.. I would DEFINATELY perform a lens test on this.. Also inspect the lens when you open the box, make sure you are not getting a USED product!!

Ok I will definetly do that kawter2.
I was going to ask about lens tests, but I figured I would be better off to search first.
I have ordered from them before, and was satisfied, but I am sure if there is any issues with this lens, they will replace it with another one.
So come friday, Once I sign for this lens, I will be doing some lens tests on it to be sure.
Any info, anyone would like to provide, please PM me.

NOPE!! they have a policy that they do not exchange Tamron 28-75 because they have exchanged SOOOOO many the owner said it is not profitable.. I was told eithe i could 1) keep the defective lens and have tamron fix it, or 2) get stor credit to buy something else

Wow ! that would surely piss me off..
Well I hope I do get a good lens, as I get it in on Friday, I will test it out to make sure it's sharp. I am about to research how to check the lens for sharpness...
With paying over 400 bucks for this lens, and a previous purchase of almost 7.. I would hope they don't give me a hastle if I have a problem with it.

i recieved this lens today and have to say i`m very impressed i love the feel of it after using the kit lens for nearly 9 months it feels great , when i got it out the box this morning 1st thing i noticed was the weight of it for such a small lens, then took a few photos of my 18mth old son . after taking the photo i looked at it on the lcd and zoomed in as far as i could, it was so sharp . i think i`m gonna like this .. it seems a lot sharper than my 50 1.8 ( i`m worried that the 50 maybe a dud now)

It's a great lens. Mine is sharper than my 50/1.4 which I rarely use anymore unless I'm shooting in very low light conditions. IMO, it's an absolute steal at the current price.
The only peeve I have is with the reverse zoom ring.
