I am planning on doing some 'Still Life' in my home over the weekend.
I would like to shoot 'Tethered'. As I have never done this before could someone explain what Canon Software Utility(s) I should use and how to connect my 5D to my PC.

I have Lightroom 2 installed and would like to use this as the softwaer I import the images into. Is this possible?

many thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Mike

I thought I'd mention that the OS I will be using is XP :)

Use the Canon EOS Utility, select Camera Settings/Remote Shooting. Set the desired location to save your photos. In Lightroom, select File, Auto Import, Enable Auto Import and set the same directory you used in the EOS Utility.

Open Lightroom and start shooting. The photos will automatically import into Lightroom.

I just used it with my 5D on Sunday, works like a charm.

Hi Scott.
Thanks for the info.
I hve checked the software provided with my 5D but it doesn't have canon EOS Utility. I have tried locating this on the Canon UK site but it only offer EOS Utility Updaters for download. any Ideas where I can download this program?

Thanks

Mike

Eureka. I have just read the instructions on the canon Site. As long as you have installed the latest version of DPP then all you have to do is install the latest EOS utility updater .... unless you know better...:)

Hmm, mine was on a CD that came with the 5D. When you install the software, there are options of what to install. That's where you can select the EOS utility.

Good luck.
