I currently have a D60 and I found a shop selling this lens for US$960. The lens seem to be in pretty okay condition although I have not really inspected it closely as yet.

Any comments or pointers on what I should look out for when buying a second hand lens

Thanks in advance

well
always check the AF focus
pay more attention on the distance scale
do some close range and infinity test

just one of the way to see if the lens alignment has gone off due to unseen knocks, previous repair work, etc

and also to look out for fungus
look thru the lens in a bright place and try zooming in and out to detect any fungus presence

but usually you wouldnt hv to worry much since the shop itself shld hv done some precautionary test b4 accepting it.

beside, the owner shld give u a certain shop warranty if u buy from him
