Hi.

I'm already using various Lowepro products (inc. SlipLock pouches) and "want to want this" as I'm fed up (dis-)assembling body and Sigma 500mm 4.5 at locations.

Anybody using this newer version of the 600 AW with this lens (or similar - dimension are 123mm (4.8") x 350mm (13.7"))?
I've heard it would be overkill for a Nikon 200-400 (which has similar measurements) and would really appreciate any real world comments.

Also, what are thoughts/experiences on packing with lens hood in shooting position (which is mentioned in the blurb).
I'm really careful with my gear but can't legislate for everything and wonder about the risk of the hood getting jammed on from a slight knock to the bottom of the case.

Thanks,

I have Lowepro cases for most of my lenses and also use one of their shoulder bags. However, having had a Lens Trekker (Mk1), I think you should take a good look at a Kinesis Long Lens Case for your 500/4...I have them for my 600/4 and 300/2.8....very much superior to Lowepro's offering (IHMO) and lighter into the bargain.

Thanks Bob.

Where do we find Kinesis in the U.K.? I'm only seeing cycle frames and defunct rock bands! Assume it's import or s/h only?

Any other thoughts on the 600 AW II? The case is an outstanding Xmas present to me and Mrs yee_har is getting frustrated (steady!) that I won't make a decision.

Also, would appreciate thoughts on travelling with body & hood (in shooting position) attached.
