This little fellow just flew in front of my lens . . . lol, ya right? Not much to them but I thought it interesting enough to share. Its mate went by first and I thought it was wearing a band . . .

Cool shot RJ :D Is it flying over water or a wet beach? It's hard to tell but the shadow is saying beach :D

Yes it is mud flats . . . the water went down a few days ago so there is lots of 'tidal' pools and mud for them to play in. It is just a small impound however, but the birds don't care. It was so small that I did not think I could 'hit' it on the fly, but I thought it turned out an ok pan on a fast little bird. Kind of a skeet shoot if you will.
Thanks to the two of you and good eye Dave.

Those avocets are too cute. Good job catching that guy on the fly (so to speak).

Are the ones you guys have . . . do they have blue legs? I almost can not stop from laughing every-time I see them.
