Hey all,

I'm new to this forum and to photography in general. Just playing around one day I started taking some pics, a few people liked them and so I put my favorites into a gallery at webshots. If some of you would be willing to give me some pointers or direction I would be ever so grateful. Like I said, it was my first time out and I am excited to maybe get a new hobby!

i liked the beach shots. The only thing I can say is that some of them needed to use the rule of thirds a little more, so that everything isn't in the middle of the picture. Or the sky half the picture and the ocean the other half. that is not good in most cases.

not bad shots. But Panza is right, just follow some basic photographic rules and your picture will come out better. The rule of thirds is one of the most used/important ones. The color seems a bit dull on some of the pictures also. May want to bump up the saturation a bit and possibly add more contrast.

Thanks guys!

Is there a newbie photgraphy site where I can read up on some of these "rules"
