These are good. I have the 10-22 and feel it makes very sharp images. Unfortunately, any quality lens might have made these photos, depending on where it was positioned. You can't really appreciate how wide it is until you see where the camera can be positioned to get a particular view. Interior photography, or landscapes where you can't back up enough to get in the whole scene, is where this baby impresses me.

Wonderful shots!

How much barrel distortion is there out of the camera? Did you have to much post to straighten it out?

Also, how close are you to these building in #6? I just wanna get an idea on how wide this lens can get.

It's around a 16-18mm or so on a regular camera. The 20D really benefits from it! This lens only works on EF-S style cameras thou. You can't get one for your EOS3 or 10D, etc.

It is VERY wide, in shot #6, I would say I am about 10 feet in front of the buidling or so, it really is crazy how wide it is.
I have to be careful, I have almost hit the front element on subjects because I can get so close to them!!

PS, I didn't use any software to correct any angles, the only processing was resizing, sharpening (USM) and raw processing adjustments.

I dont like the way wide angle shots look, they remind me of a fisheye. It just makes things look really weird.

I have had the exact same pleasure as you have. It's a wonderful addition to my bag. It's fun to take a "macro" style of photo and then pull your head back but leave the camera in place. Startles me every time, you can get within inches!

Love your building photos, very very nice.

Cheers,

Great photographs!

I'm a big lover of wide angle - I like photographs that show me things that my own eyeballs can't see. I'm seriously considering the 10-22 on the strength of your shots.

Damn, it seems a bit early to write to Santa.... :-)

The 20mm Nikkor used to be one of my fav lenses. You're going to have a LOT of fun with that one! ;-)

Impressive shots! That lens is next on my list of about 10 "must have" Canon lenses. Now if only I can figure out how to pay for it, let alone all 10 of them.
