I have an umbrella kit, and am looking to complement this with a softbox setup. Nothing serious, only looking into using a speedlight in the time being. I was looking at these kits, which one do you guys recommend?

Also, what else do i need in addition to the kit?? I've seen speedrings mentioned when using softboxes? DO i need one?

It looks like both of those kits have everything you'll need to use a hotshoe flash with the softbox.

Speedrings are usually used for mounting softboxes and modifiers to studio strobes.

The wescott kit looks like it includes both the mini and micro apollo softboxes so its a two-fer combo. I've used the micro apollo on a shoe mount bracket and its nice for times when you have to be tethered to the camera via cord (or on the shoe). It would also work as a secondary softbox for a hairlight or low power fill.

If looking at photoflex, get the small not extra-small.
