Matt, it is a sports arena and exhibition center. Now that the NBA Grizzlies are in Memphis, there is the new FedEx Forum which now is used as the venue for most sports events. The city is looking for new uses for the Pyramid, but it still stands as a distinctive landmark on the Mississippi. -Tom

nice shot. its fitting that they have a pyramid structure near the river in memphis. im guessing that its some kind of reference to the original memphis in ancient egypt.

Someone from the other end of the state has to come in my backyard and take a great pic like that! Well done! did you stop on the bridge?

the pyramid has yet to be paid off, and the new Fed Ex forum management has total say as to who, when and if any concerts can be booked in the pyramid.
anti compete caluse, snuck under city council's noses. now many acts are heading to nearby Southaven, MS to play at their civic center, which seats maybe 7,000 .
You get what ya pay for outta city government, and the Grizlies made their money work for them!
Anyway, Great pic, I am jealous

Norm....Actually, yes, I set up on the bridge after midnight when the traffic was at a minimum and took a couple of quick time exposures (kinda dangerous). I am really surprised that it turned out as well as it did because of the vibration on the bridge. Used a wide angle lens.

Great shot! I've seen it a couple of times, and last summer I got a couple of shots of it, although I couldn't find a good place to pull over at the time so they weren't very good. :( I really loved the Memphis zoo as well. :)
