This is my first time shooting at a concert, and I was limited to my seat on the balcony, but please give some C+C. Camera is 350D, lens is EF-S 55-250 IS, ISO 800 for most, I think. Thanks!

Well, I don't know what lens you were using, but you should open the lens all the way and go to ISO 1600, which should improve your sharpness and subject movement. Try that and get back to us. :-)

Agree that the shutter speeds were borderline, and that a faster lens would have helped.

That being said: I like #5, and the fact that you captured someones flash there ;)

Be careful on your framing: On the closer shots, you beheaded the people in the background in every shot ;)
Not a big problem in #1 (more bothered by the face behind the mic), but bad in #2 and 3.

Hey All,

Yes absolutely great shots of Del, Ronnie and the boys. I'd rather listen to Del than Carrie any day. If it ain't bluegrass it ain't music you know! Country is a close second though.

In my experience, ISO 1600 with a 350D is just incredibly noisy.

Hey All,

OK Pics number 2 and 3 are killin me! Ricky Skaggs for 2? - I think he's playin his mandolin and Josh Turner for number 3? I think ray price was supposed to be on that show but number 2 isn't Ray price.

i have one of ray price, but he really isn't great to photograph being that he shows very little emotion on his face. i also have a few of the square dancers, but they move very quickly (obviously) so they didn't turn out great either. these are in no particular order if that's what you're getting at.

Nice to see you go at it... It's not often so many big names are on stage at one time...

Ray Price is ever popular... (back in 66", I used to play his music for our hotel/resort guests, during dinner.)
