I about to order 2 L lenses from a supplier here in the Netherlands. The 17-40 and the 70-200 f/4.
According to the information on his website, the 70-200 is sold including hood. no additional information is given for the 17-40.
Before I get into an discussion with this guy:
is it not true that ALL L-lenses include a lens hood and a lens pouch?
Thanks

Just got information from the dealer that lenspouches are only standard on f/2.8 L lenses????

Hello.
I ordered my 17-40 lens from B&H in USA and got a lenspouch with it.

Both my 17-40L and 70-200 f/4L came complete with hood and lens pouches. The lens pouches are of dubious value... mine are in a cupboard somewhere and the hood for the 17-40L will annoy you.

My 17-40L came with the standard hood (looks like a trumpet but works just fine) but I do remember reading somewhere that the standard hood supplied is in fact for 35mm camera's and a different hood would be preferable for use with a digital camera

The 17-40 should include a soft lens pouch, greyish coloured with a draw string top. The lens hood included is a rather large afair with that resembles a small frisebee with wings. Not of the highest value for cutting down lens flare but very useful if you have a small dog and want to teach him to jump through hoops.:):)

Thanks for you information.
The lenses from this dealer don't include the soft pouch, only the hood. I ordered anyway because I probably want to replace the pouch with a decent case for protection.
