Here's my first viewable HDR image. The goal of this image was to get a sense of the lighting situations appropriate for using HDRI. It was also to try different s/w packages to see what worked and for how much money and effort. For this set of images I used FDRTools on my MacBook. I scaled the images on my iMac with GIMP.
The images were captured from my G9 in our library in our townhouse. The images were taken around 10AM, facing west. The library was lit with incandescent lights as well as indirect sunlight from another window. There are screen doors outside of the wood/glass doors. The camera was mounted on a tripod. I shot in RAW, using auto exposure bracketing. I did not try to correct for white balance inside, as I wanted to see the natural light outside. In producing the final image, I wanted something that looked "natural" versus some of the unusual HDR images I've seen.
I'm still learning, and am using the book Practical HDRI: High Dynamic Range Imaging for Photographers by Jack Howard. I'm also using online resources. If you care to add insight beyond what I might find in the aforementioned resources, I'd appreciate it!
