Can anyone help? I'm off to iceland in may and want to make sure the settings on the camera are set to achieve the best results. Am i right in thinking that if i shoot in RAW then these settings are irrelevant? (i will be shooting RAW)
I will be mostly shooting landscapes with (hopefully) a bit of wildlife too.
I will be doing all the post production in photoshop 7 (although if someone can give me a compelling enough reson i may be tempted to get cs, for example the ability to do 16bit as opposed to 8 bit)
At the moment all the settings are as they came out of the box.
Also what is the best colour space to use (both in the camera and in photoshop)
Any help appreciated.

Canon has a Photoshop deal for $299. This will be CS, not the brand new CS2 but it handles RAW.

Even though you will be shooting in RAW, I recommend taking an 18% gray card with you and shooting a shot of the gray card in each of the different lighting situations. This will give you a good starting point for white balance in Photo Shop or whatever software you will be using for color balancing your photos.
Also, although I haven't verified this yet, one book I read recommends using custom white balance, even while using RAW mode, as the white balance settings are stored with the image, which also provide the starting point for color correction.
If you have a means of storing lots of images while on your trip, and you have the time, I would also recommend experimenting with different apertures to use various depths of field for each image.
Hope this helps...

RawShooter essentials is a good, free RAW processing program. Until you get used to RAW I'd suggest shooting RAW + JPG, the in-camera JPG stuff can be better than someone who's new to RAW.

Don't know abut the 20d, just wanted to say that I have used both PS 7 as well as CS, and the best thing about CS is the addition of the shadows/highlight adjustment. It works so well! Maybe not as good as retrieving the deatils compared to raw, but definitely quick, easy and effective.

When pictures of nudes are shown the forum requests you put that notice on the thread title line. When you make comments like this you should be required to put $$$$$WARNING$$$$ on the thread to indicate it may very well lead to the spending of more money.......
But then I guess most of them would contain the warning.
