Hi!
Since I am new to the forum, here's a little introduction of myself:
I'm an 18 year old man from Norway who started photographing 3 years ago. I live in the capital of Norway, Oslo, and my photo equipment is:
Canon 350D
Canon 70-200 F4L
Canon 400mm F5.6L
I have never really gotten any critique or respons to my photos before, so I am quite new to this =).
Here are the shots:
Panorama (posted as a link due to its wideness)

Hi Anders,
Welcome to POTN CC forum.
#1: the elements are nice, but there's just too much dead space in the middle - all that less interesting snow - leaving you with a very long thin photo (fine in and of itself), which unfortunately appears too tightly cropped at bottom and top in contrast to all that dead space. I would taking the photo from lower down, close in to the water/wheelbarrow, with a wider angle lense that would compress the dead space while capturing foreground and background better.
#2: doesn't quite do it for me... the net doesn't have enough interest to pull off the shot... maybe one of those things like barbed wire which looks interesting but is actually very small and doesn't easily provide satisfying detail to the viewer...?
#3: background is nice, but you typically want some empty space for a vehicle to move into (or a person/animal to look into) when composing your shot. Without empty space on the left, this looks kind of cramped and more like the plane's about to drop out of the sky because the viewer isn't invited to image the forward motion....
#4: Really cool... very ghostly and with the vehicle actually visible like that - infinitely more interesting than the plethora of trail-only shots often seen. Good exposure level too.
Oh - and the panorama - pretty good technically, but I find the scene a bit sterile... :-/.
Cheers,
Tony

Thanks mate!
Regarding the #1 photo, I used my 70-200 @ 70mm and couldn't get any lower. I am about to buy Tamron 17-50 f2,8 now, and that would make things easier. I totaly agree with you!
#2: Kind of agree with you - I had no purpose when taking the shot, other than testing some long exposures
#3: On the original I have more space in it, but this version was uploaded to "airliners.net" which have very strict rules when it comes to "dead space" etc, so that's my excuse for this one :p

airliners.net don't know what they're missing... ;-). Good luck with the new lens.

the last one i like a lot! its well lit too... must have been a but of an issue, i agree that the first one has to much blank space, but you could probably go back and get another photograph of the cool pattern made by the lit up houses!

---one more thought about the last photograph, how long was your exposure? a polorizor and say a 60 sec exposure could make the train more transparent and the lines of light more apparent.
.... and welcome!

Great start I agree with most others, the plane could definitely been left more crop room in front of it

I don't have the original image where I am now, but I guess it was between 15 and 30 seconds.
Unfortunately I can't get longer exposures than 30 seconds with my 350D :-(.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re post 9/#1: not bad... nothing wrong with it technically, but ultimately limited interest.
9#2: very impressive compositional variation... works extremely well! I'd be delighted with this if I were you....
9#3: interest factor is a bit limited here too... is it shadows on sand? But at first glance it looks like blue paint on clothe. Just doesn't offer enough to be more than a space-filler mood-supporting but generally unremarkable wall hanging....
Cheers, Tony

The last one of the first set is spectacular! As the first responder responded, it is very eerie and I love how you can actually see a ghost of the train and the light trails that follow.
