Great pics, your girlfriend appears to be a more willing model though

They are all nice shots but, in No 1, the focus seems to be on the nose area rather than on the eyes.

I absolutely love these dogs and want to get one when I move to Utah next year. If you don't mind me asking where did you get yours?

Thanks. Yes the dof was off on that first pic... I'll have to redo it!
I got him in Florida from a Swissy breeder called whispering palms and he has been fantastic! I highly recommend them. This is their website.

I don't think it was the DOF - it was the focus! ;)

If I had focused on the eyes the nose would have been oof so I think more depth of field was needed.
what a cute dog!
Thanks!

I think you're still missing the point a little here. It isn't necessarily more depth of field you need - you just need to focus in the right place ie the eyes. In this case, you focused on the wrong thing - the nose. In portraits, whether human or animal, the focus should be on the eyes. It's far more important that the eyes are sharp than the nose!

Beautiful Dog! They're in my top 5 of dogs I'd like to have.
I'm at work too many hours a day to get one, but someday!
