Hello to all

I was photographing the shooters and wondered if you all had any tips for shooting them since I seemingly could only get behind them and a little bit to the side, but nothing dramatic.

Any comments are appreciated.

What? You mean people shooting guns? Trap shooting? Skeet shooting?

If you can be more specific about what you want to shoot, you'll probably get some pretty good answers!

I do some shooting of shooters. Having to stay behind them is quite restrictive. I just got some radio triggers, and am looking forward to trying them out.

What kind of shooting are you going to shoot?

Best advice I can give when at the range is to get the best angle you can while staying in a safe position with the fastest shutter conditions will allow for.

awesome shot of the M1 Garand after expending all its rounds how it ejects the clip. Ca-Chink is a sound that lets enemy know you was out of ammo also :(

In number 5, how is the pistol going off when the hammer is still back?

Notice in this shot the hammer is still forward because the slide has not had time to cycle the action.

If you want full faces ... you will probably need a camera on a remote (safety)

That is a really good question, I never noticed that before. #5 is a crop of this picture. EXIF shows this was shot at 1/40":

Here is another from the same day with the hammer back as well. That's really weird it has to be something with the type of pistol. The pistol is a Sig Sauer Mosquito .22 Cal. EXIF for this is 1/60"

This picture is the only one that I have that has caught a shell in the air from that pistol. EXIF shows this at 1/40"

Here are two that were taken with "messed up" camera settings. (Guess that is what I get for letting the wife get the camera out and start shooting first without me checking first.) These two are .45 ACP.

Those are truly excellent shots. Not an easy thing to do I'd imagine, catching that ball of fire from the barrel and the cartridges.

Truly action conveying shots.

Since the 22 RF Sig is not a locked breech or delayed blowback design, it is possible the slide has already cocked the hammer and returned to battery and you are seeing the ejected powder burning in front of the muzzle.

Nice images by the way.
