Not really dancing but playful fighting. George is the redhead and 3 years old. Merlot is not even one yet but is the aggressor. So funny to watch and no serious injuries. I think, like George, he needs to lose his nuts

Nice capture. Feisty little dudes aren't they! I have a few pics of my two boys playing like that and they look so fierce, yet I know they are only having fun :-)

Nice capture. :) They're fun to watch when they're play-fighting. I like the lighting on this shot.
George looks like a shetland.. (?) ... but is Merlot a Welsh? (or welsh mix?). Are they still intact because you plan to breed them? I'll bet they're gorgeous when they've shed for summer. I hope you'll take more shots of them throughout the year. ..

Thank you all for your kind comments.
You know your stuff Playm. George is a Shetland cross and Merlot is a Welsh section C. George has already been cut but Merlot hasn't. As we have 4 Mares as well it is going to be a priority to get him done. He has to be kept seperate at all times otherwise we could end up with a big herd

When I was 8 (a long time ago), I had a horse.. while my little friend had a shetland. My cousin also had a shetland ... but I wanted a Welsh pony. LOL. They were such elegant little things.. yet bigger than shetlands. .. anyway, I never got the welsh.. always horses (which was also good). I photographed the horse events at the fair last year... there were some pretty ponies and minis (though technically, minis are not ponies). ... That's why I think Merlot is going to be beautiful when he's shed out for summer. :) I'll look foreward to your updated photos.

Thank you. It wasn't too long. I put them both out in the field with camera at the ready. The lighter coloured pony has plenty of attitude when he is first put out and burns some energy. I feel sorry for poor George. He is bitten and kicked but once he has had enough, he gives as good as he gets.
