i have the eos 450D with a 10-20mm attatched at the time i want to take photos in an aircraft(a highly aerobatice aircraft) i want it to sit on top of a panel inside so i can take photos via SHUTTER RELEASE CABLE.

The inside of my aircraft is one pilot in the front one in the back, tight space, i only want photos of the pilot in the back (camera to be behind my head.)

The aircraft is a EXTRA 300L if it helps any of you.

Alteritivly how can i sucurely strap it down????

need answers badly! :)
thanks

I would take a tripod mounting plate to an aviation engineer.
They can then mount the tripod end to the frame of the aircraft so that it won't move.
The camara than has a plate on it that slides into the mount, and if it is a good quality mount, is securly locked in place so it can't move.

This way you don't have to worry about mounting arms and ball heads coming lose while flying, and the camera can be mounted securly in a fixed position.

Maybe something constructed into the body of the plane. Photographer Mark Rebilas did a neat series with a D700 mounted to the back of a prop plane.
