Here is a pic i took from about 80 yds of a young bobcat i see regularly, it was early morning, 70-300 IS really paid off for a shot like this.
Let me know what you think!

Good shot.
Just a suggestion.
I might have bumped the saturation up a bit and cropped a little.

Was that in the wild? If so, where?
Thanks.

Yes those pictures are in the wild. They were taken on 35 acres i hunt and shoot photography on in far south texas. They were taken just a few minutes after sunrise, on a cold january morning from a box blind about 80 yards from the cat.

That cat appears to have a long tail (the bobcat gets it's name from it's stubbed tail) and isn't colored like any bobcat I've ever seen. I've taken bobcat while hunting in Texas and never saw anything like that. Also, his markings look more like some kind of leopard instead of a bobcat. Do you live near an exotic hunting ranch? Perhaps he's an imported exotic that escaped the confines of his placement. Nice shot, anyway.

Nice cat :D
Wonder what's on his mind ...
most likely he's thinking ... 'Well, let's see if he has a gun or only that funny camera .. he is close enough for a quick bite:D'

Hehehehe, must be one that ran fast enough that he never got his tail caught in the door :D :o

Andy, he sure looks curious enough that you may just hit his thoughts right.
I do think its great that we get such wonderful postings of wild creatures on this site. Lucky photographers, good capture in this case.

That is so cool! I'm excited when I see a fisher cat in my backyard. I consider that an exotic find.... hahaha
