Thanks Chris for your kind remarks. It was a bland place to get a variety of shots. Good job it was before Ireland won the Rugby as the black stuff was flowing.

Yep hoping to get out for at least 1 maybe 2 days to the event, haven't been to Co.Down or Armagh stages for a few years now. Hoping to buy my COI programme online from website, and maybe get a recce over the stages next weekend, also going to retire my 55-200 Tamron and try out a 100-300mm F4-5.6 USM for the weekend. Hoping that improves the results - :D not quite L glass yet I know but I'll give it a go !

Cheers Kev. There is an abundance of Escorts over here at every rally. Some really expensive Mk 2s. Never get tired of watching them.
This car was built for this season to promote this guys rally prep company, if you have £100,000 to spare you can pick it up.

The only time I can tell you at the moment is we have to meet at 10:30 am and I have heard the roads close 2 hours before the first car is due, these are the afternoon stages.

Hi Jim, great shots. Like the 3rd shot of the Toyota the best though, simply because you appear to at a lower angle and it gives a greater sensation of speed and menace. The 1.4 seems to work well with the 120-300. I've had one for a few years and tried it a few times with the 70-200 and it didn't work nearly as well as it does with my 120-300.
Looking foward to giving it a rattle at Bishopscourt over the Easter weekend with the Irish Superbikes.

Thanks David, Found the 1.4x quite good, slowed down the auto focus a bit, but does give you that extra bit of reach should be good for the Cricket season. Used it on Saturday for the last Rugby game with 120-300 here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=669663). Only time I try the bikes is at the North West practice.

Or is it just the plate?
And YUJ 222T used to belong to the late Steve Fleck (was silver then)

Know that road quite well. Should be quite fast over relatively narrow country B roads but generally a good grippy surface. There would be a number of humps and bumps which could be interesting at speed.

Allow 30-45 mins to get to Banbridge depending on the time of day. A further 10-15 mins to get to SS 5&7. Give yourself time to get into position though so I'd be leaving 2 hours before the stage is due to take place then you should be ok.

Cheers for that RD. hope the weather holds out. just got myself a 120-300 2.8 siggy and i havent had a chance to test it on motorsport yet. so fingers crossed it will be fine on the day. i have heard some prople say that it has a bit of a learning curve coming from a canon 70-200 to get used to it?

Yes Pete CIL 999 was Berties car the O'Connells bought it from him, it was the car Bertie got his first international win in Ulster rally 1982.
