Discovered a new tactic with the return this year that seems to have paid off well.

I've been going to the same Taxman for a few years now,. a great guy but we see each other once a year,. no more, and certianly don't talk much when we do.

Well this year my ork schedule has been just insane,. so instead of my usual February,. I was late... very late..

...April late.

On top of that I had to change my appointment (thankfully I had a weeks advance notice or I'd be at H&R block right now)

Well today was the big day,. and feeling shamefull for being one of these late filers,. I thought it was high time the Tax man saw all what all this stuff he's righting off does.

I printed, matted and framed an 8X10" of this;

...and presented this to him with my humble apologies for being so late and messing up the frst appointment.

Well Dave was thrilled. He showed me all kinds of other stuff he had gotten,.. and we talked for 80% of the time I was there,.. and did taxes for the other 20%... he even called his wife down from upstairs (he works out of his home)

Neither of them new what a Tern is :)

In the end I got a return that was DOUBLE the largest I had ever received before in my lifetime!

How does it work with those tax returns that you Americans are talking about every year? Isn't it just your own money that you get back because you paid too much tax? If that's the case, it's only a cigar out of your own box, as we say in Dutch.

Its like a game. Your employeer takes tax's out of your pay based on your income. At the end of the year you try to figure out the Tax Code written in such a way it is almost impossible to know what it says. If you can figure another deduction you can get more money back. You are right in that is yours to start with but you have to prove it to Unkle Sam each year :) FLAT TAX,,,I am all for a Flat Tax on ALL!!! Take it our weekly and it is over with!

CDS, may I do your taxes next year, and please come in on 4/15 with a framed pic of... :lol:

That's a stunning picture; especially for someone who hasn't seen much wild life stuff.

Damn, I wish I had clients like you CDS. My late filers just give me a sob story about why its late and why they need it now. We don't do returns on the spot so they have to wait a little while. A little appreciation this time of year goes a long way with the tax guys. Thanks for being considerate.

Enjoy your lense, I mean refund.

The worst part is that the government gets to you use YOUR money interest free for a year. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: but if you owe more man do they want interst if you try to pay late. :lol: :lol: :lol: "flat tax.or National Sales Tax" better yet NO TAX. :lol: :lol: :lol:

CDS,

Thats a really great shot! He must have been very excited to receive this. Our family Chiropractor retired recently and I managed to make a last minute appointment because of a back problem. It was the last day he was going to be in the office. He and I always talked photography and I gave him some tips for PS CS to try. So before I went into the office for the appointment I printed him one of my favorites, framed and matted it and gave it to him as a going away gift. Needless to say he was surprised and he says its now hanging in his den. Photography makes a great gift!
