I'm on the verge of replacing my LaCie 22b (actually only 19.5") CRT, and also my Spyder2pro. Looking at LCDs: LaCie 526, NEC 2690WUXi or HP LP2475W to use with Photoshop. The LaCie is c. $1600 with hood and meter hardware. The NEC is c. $1200 without meter or hood. The HP is c. $600 without meter or hood. I think LaCie and NEC are identical products: same specs, same AS-IPS panel. The HP has an H-IPS or S-IPS panel.

The BlueEye meter bundled with the LaCie is supposedly the same as the EyeOne Display 2. Sooo--Are the BlueEye and EyeOne meters good enough for non-commercial use? Should I consider others, e.g. Spyder3? Altho I'm hankering for a large screen, does it make more sense to go with the 24" HP and get a better colorimeter?

Thanks in advance to all you objective viewers out there! jack

The DTP-94 is the best consumer level colorimeter but they are a bit hard to find now. But if you buy a second hand Monaco Optix XR you'd get one.

I have the HP2475W and a Spyder2pro. The calibration seems to be pretty good, but I am debating on getting a Spyder3.

Fedka-- Thanks for the lead. FYI, Integrated Color has the DTP-94 at $150. and the Color Eyes Display Pro/DTP-94 bundled for $325.
Colormanagement.com also has the bundle at the same price. Marc Levine at Color Management says "Color Management Group has made arrangements to continue sales of the DTP-94 colorimeter. it is available in select software bundles."
