Took the family to OKC for a Spring Break retreat. The first 3 were at Bricktown at dusk so I tried my best with what we had. Please tell me what you think of the following pics. I'm trying to get better so please be honest. And I do know about my daughter's hair in the first one. Really wish I would have paid attention to that at the moment.

My $0.02 worth...
#1: With the way she's posing, I might have put her in the top left third rather than the top right third. The background is a bit bright, but I like the way it looks with the DOF.
#2: Vertical crop is a bit tight, but I like the way her dimensions fill the frame entirely too... neat square! :) What kind of flash did you use on this one?
#3: I love the framing of the brick here. I'm not sure if more fill flash would do anything for the face or not...
#4: Was this a posed shot, or just a natural capture?
#5: Looks good to me!
#6: Looks like the eyes may not be exactly in focus. I've had this happen a bunch on tight, shallow DOF shots like this. I like the tight crop though.
Cute kids! You're lucky you have some tolerant test subjects! ;)

#1 Thanks. I'll go back to the RAW file and see if I can crop it that way. I agree it would look much better.

#2 On camera flash. :(
#3 Thanks. I need to get a decent flash next.
#4 Caught him in the wild!
#5 It is my favorite of the bunch.
#6 I thought that too. I guess the focus is the eyebrow?
I consider myself lucky to have them as well.:)
