Hallo everybody!
Thanks to hnikesch for posting the results!!
Sorry for posting this late - our ISP is having problems and the net has been up and mostly down all week. I guess that's the price we pay for country living - lol!
Thanks everybody for taken part in this last challenge!
Big Hands: Fireworks - great shot!
Mullhawk: Under the Sea - interesting but a bit on the dark side - maybe use level adjustment!
Sue.t: Mossy rockface - are these holes used by birds? Great color!
traildad: Daisies - beautiful bokeh!
bjordan: Afternoon Moon - nicely framed shot and great color!
hnikesch: Vegas Round - great subject - love the angle and colors!
winterstar: Moon - always an intersting subject - try next time a larger version!
Biffarama: Baseball - great idea, great shot, my favorite! Thanks everybody for participating! On to the next one!

Just want to know some thoughts, because it seems one of my biggest problems is I always come down to like two photos that I am choosing between, and I always seem to pick the wrong one. This is the other photo I was going to submit for this challenge, think it would have been better?

I liked "Something Round... Under the Sea" but it was underexposed. It must have been a dark environment! I've been less than thrilled with the s2-is low light performance. ISO 400 gets a little ugly.
I do prefer the dandilion. I'd maybe crop it a bit.

I probably would have cropped it, I just didn't because I didn't submit it, I may have even given it a little tighter to the left. I don't know, like I said my biggest problem seems to be making the right decisions on what to pick and then what to do with it PP wise. All part of the learning process though I guess :D

With your feedback on mine, do you mean make the moon bigger or crop the photo so that the moon takes over more of the composition?

I don't know, like I said my biggest problem seems to be making the right decisions on what to pick and then what to do with it PP wise. All part of the learning process though I guess :DAfter all it is art and all art is in the eye of the beholder. Try to think about what the photo makes you feel when you are looking at it. For me both versions of the dandelion have a distracting background. I would have cropped it up real close. As was said before the underwater photo was dark. Pick the photo that gives you the most "WoW" factor. We are trying to appeal to emotional feelings using technical electronic gear. Make final versions of both photos you want to submit and pick the one that you "feel" is best.

What I meant was, resize the picture to 800 pixels at the long side. Now that is assuming that you took the picture at the largest image recording quality.
Let's have more fun at the 'fences' challenge!
