I have noticed a dearth of firearm-related photos here so I thought I would contribute in the hopes that there are others out there who share my passion for firearms and can pass on some tips.

I know I had some lighting issues here...

I find that the interest level skyrockets when you add someone in a bikini. Nice shots though.

Here's a few of mine. (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=64869)

Personally i think the mood gets better when you dont use any flash at all, just long exposures. I like the 1911 the best though.

About time we got some more of them here! ("Specially the link to "Girlz with Gunz" above. :D
I just posted one of mine here:
Browning .22 - 3 light set-up (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=66705)

Maybe I'll put it in "Sports", too. More pics needed. Bring 'em on, guys (& Gals)! ;)

I don't own a gun yet but I'm thinking about purchasing a German k98.

I goto the shooting range with my friend and use his k98, 1911, and russian nagant. I like the look on people's faces when you're shooting an 8mm round and they're shooting a .22. (picture provided)

I'm in love with that german mauser. I can land every round tightly grouped around the bullseye on a target 100 yards away. No scope of course. One heck of a rifle. It's massive recoil and sound will become annoying after a while, though. ;)

Excuse the bad picture, my friend took it with his bad digi cam. :p

For some reason I find this thread strangely unerving; the whole right to bare arms rubbish and then America wonders why they have gun crime issues......

Nice pictures though!

Let's leave the politics out of this thread. It never ceases to amaze me that people come into a gun thread to point out how they hate guns.

Here are a couple others that I have on hand.

Rock Island Armory Commander .45acp with fake Ivory grips.

Maybe the most appropriate way to deal with this is not to discuss our feelings about guns, pro or con, or to express concerns over one nation's firearm policies. Let's limit our comments to the photos. Any debate will be no-win for everyone concerned.

Thanks.

K98
That's the Karabiner snipers version, isn't it?

I should have used K98k instead. The K98k was the shorter version of the Gewehr 98 which was introduced in 1898 (the WW1 version was alot longer). K98k was introduced in 1935 if I'm not mistaken and then issued to infantry in WW2. The K stands for kurz which means "short" in german.

One heck of a rifle. Sturdy, reliable, powerful, accurate, sexy, built like a tank. What more can you ask for?

I found it somehow easier to shoot than the nagant even though it had alot more recoil.

Still a varmint hunting round :p. Have you heard an 8mm rifle round go off? :D

To be honest I don't know how on earth soldiers fire their weapons without ear protection. It hurts. Especially when you start throwing in MG42s, M60s, or M249s into the mix.

Not a 106, but some a-h@le almost got me with a 57mm recoiless. Here is the pic after we captured the location

Ok, a bit smaller than all others here, but this clip carried me through several stock bolt action .22 competitions :D

Photo with the Rebel G and kit lens several years ago playing with the DOF of that cheapo lens. Poor scan makes it even worse.

Like most things in life,. I'm never truly happy untill I build my own,..

So after a few over the counter purchases,. I eventually built this; forgive the pic,. it's quite old

Caspian Slide on an Essex frame,.
Smith and Alexandar grip safety, (and Cocoa bolo Double Diamond grips) SVI infinity triglide titanium trigger (1.8Lb)
Wolf springs throughout, Chip McCormick hammer, Nowlin sear...
Two barrels,. a Krebs .45 ACP and a Briley in .400 corbon using the Briley spherical bushing.

All parts hand filed and polished for fit, finish and function.

Please ignore the big Red Dot,. I never used it,.. it was installed strictly for the value of the images.

I've owned a bunch of .45ACPs over the years. I currently have a Sig P220, completely stock, and it’s a great handgun. I owned a Gold Cup up until a couple years ago, and that darned thing would shoot about 4 feet low at 15 yards. If I'd ever had to use it in self defense, I'd probably have ended up neutering someone. Seriously overrated.

I know precious little about firearms but thought photographing them would be an interesting experiment. I borrowed a few from a friend and, over the course of a couple of weeks, had a great time seeing what I could come up with. He even allowed me to fire a couple of the hand guns when I was finished. I had never fired one before.

As you can see from the date on the images, it's been a while ago.

A couple of those came out really nice, Larry! Tell your friend that if he ever wants to get rid of the Ruger blackhawk (assuming it has not be upgraded) that I am interested! :D

Hm....interesting, personally I encourage any debate, certainly doesn't hurt anyone!Maybe allowing guns to be owned in a modern world isn't possible to argue for.......;) lol

I also encourage debate, but only in the appropriate venue. Because such debate is inherently political and expressly forbidden by the forum's rules, it cannot take place here.

Adding a wink and a "lol" does not make this statement any less confrontational, nor does it make it any less inappropriate for this forum.
