The first pic shows a 3 light set-up using blue gells on two of the lights.
Below are examples of the light positions so that you can see relative locations & the size of the 'source' on the background paper, as well as separate pics of the effects of each light alone...
and a "final" comparison image of the same set-up with no gells. You'll notice a highlight on the grip in this one. I probably could have tried to use a flag (piece of black card to hold the reflection back from this area), but PS has made me lazy! ;) Plus, I tried to keep things simple.

Any questions?
Which one do you like the best?

I'm glad you liked it. ;) I envy your studio setup. A bedroom with 3 lights & a wall? :D:D:D

That makes 3 more lights than I have at the moment... oh well, I'll get some soon. :D

Somewhere theres a thread that's recommends work lights from Lowe's. You already have the walls. ;-) Have fun!

That picture works for me.

Vetteography take a look at my recent post. I made a makeshift "studio" on the cheap.

Great shots. I am working on my lighting system and hope to have it soon. I just need to make up my mind.

mjordan: How did it go, "You say potatoe & I say patootie"? Well, something like that. ;) Everyone is welcome to post their lighting set-ups here! :D

Got that. You did say, ". As a personal preference, I'd perfer that the barrel be point up and maybe..." which seemed to me to miss the whole point of these threads; to illustrate how major changes can be made to the feel of the subject by minor changes in the lighting. And to take some of the mystery out of indirect lighting for beginners. So add a thread of your own variations. We'll all be happy to see them. ;-)
