If you are not a new flash user you may want to stop reading now.

http://www.planetneil.com/tangents/flash-photography-techniques/

This site has been referred to a few times in the last 90 days (I searched). So maybe some new people haven't seen it and will find the information useful. People who have been around a while (like maybe if you have 10000 posts) will get nothing new from this, so you may not want to look. I heartily apologize if this is repeat information but don't get all upset and carry on about it, just relax and enjoy.

Hoosier,

I'm new at flash, I have a 580EX and 2 430 EXs, I read everything he has.

THANK YOU A TON for the link.

My pleasure. I found the link on this forum and thought it should have its own thread for us new people. The old timers already know all of this.

I found that black foam thing useful. I use it a lot. Also his basic steps for doing fill flash is easy to follow.

Yes, great link. I am always buying books on lighting, and this crash course w/ specific examples was very informative. Thanks.
