Went to the Northern Sports & Saloon Car Championship test day today, it's a local series based at Croft circuit but does visit some of the other circuits as well, what I like about this championship is the variety of different cars you get racing, some weird and wonderful cars. Although none of the photos show it we had a blizzard at one point with gale force winds  (Typical of Croft in the Spring;) )
All shot with the 1DMKII and 100-400 lens

Nice Ian, better than being stuck indoors as I was. That Honda is running in the Britcar EERC series which is venturing north of Watford again this year. I'm off to snap the Legends boys tomorrow along with K&N saloons and various other stuff. There is light rain forecast which should make the pocket-rockets very interesting to say the least, they are bad enough in the dry.

We had the same freezing cold weather down here. I'm packing my chemical handwarmers for tomorrow.

Great shots Ian. Based on these and others I see posted here, the 100-400 seems to be a great motorsports lens.

I especially like #1 where you can see daylight under the inside rear tire. It really adds to the feeling of speed around that turn.

Fantastic, as always!

Have you got anymore of that Elan?
Its insane!

I know someone here who i thought had one of the most heavily modified Elans in the world, the only thing left on it thats orginal is the back bone chassis, front suspension uprights and the steering colum. Even the body has been made out of honey comb carbon fibre.
But it still looks like an Elan.

Geez....you guys really have this thing down to a science. Those are beautiful shots.

I guess you're going to have to take a day off for the wedding, right? (My wife wants me to stay up all night and watch it on TV with her. )

Pass up on motor racing to watch 'that' wedding, no chance. I'd rather be freezing cold trackside, which I will be.

There's a wedding going on? Oh... you mean the barmy tree hugger and Parker-knoll? nah... I've got motor racing to shoot.

Nice shots Ian. :)

Silverstone is my destination for tomorrow. An MG Car Club meeting. No doubt there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth there tomorrow. I doubt if they're gonna be the most cheerful bunch all things considered.
