Images taken with 200/2.8L + EF 2X Extender

Can anyone please post some pics taken with 200/2.8L + EF 2X Extender. I have the Extender on order (due in 2 weeks) and want to see your images and know your experiences with it. I know about the image degradation and slower AF bit but I'm thinking that for occassional use it may still be acceptable. Thanks for any input:)

Someone somewhere came to the conclusion you get better image quality by using the 1.4x convertor and blowing up the image digitally (in the likes of Photoshop). Sorry, I've lost the links but it might be something to research...

Thanks, I do remember reading a similar discussion. I still want to see some photos with the 2x though. I do have it on order and want to know what to expect.

Hi Oculus

Just took these pics for you to see how good an image can be produced with the Canon extenders, this is the 1.4 x and fitted to 200 mm f 2.8 L
On my 1D mk 2 .
just to push things a bit further than needed i did one at 1600 iso and also at 100 iso.

by all means click the original. (But i did reduce my full file by 50% as it was 23mb)

Do you happen to have any using a 2X extender? Anyway, thanks for the effort, appreciate it. The 200/2.8L is indeed an excellent lens and I enjoy using it. Here's one of my dog taken with my 200/2.8 at f2.8

Hi Ben

Sorry dont use the canon 2x extender.
In fact I dont use a 2x with 200 lens just use the 400 & then 1.4x or 2x with that lens (hope that makes sense)
actually do own a 2x teleplus converter 7element which is as good as the Canon in my opinion its an old one but still good.
