One thing that has annoyed me about using Lightroom for my pitch-side post processing is the inability of it to do text replacement like Photomechanic does when inputting captions. This is a shame as Lightroom is excellent for everything else. I have worked around it by putting the match details (date, location, teams) in the import metadata settings, but when it comes to putting in the player details it is a matter of typing it in which can be a bit laborious when you're also trying to follow the action.
In Photomechanic, you're able to set up shortcuts enabling you to type "m 10 p 15 ts" which expands to "England v France, Twickenham, 23rd March 2009: Toby Flood (10) of England passes to Delon Armitage (15) of England who runs over to score". Very fast and very useful.
So, with a bit of lateral thinking, I found "www.phraseexpress.com" which is a text replacement facility for Windows.
Now, I can set up my player name and other text shortcuts in Phrasexpress when I get the team sheet. When I enter the caption in Lightroom, I can do exactly the same as you would in Photomechanic and just use the shortcuts.
And its free. Major result!
