It's been a few months... I have been shutter-free... Too much work, winter doldrums, too much work...

I started getting my gear together to go birding in the morning. My wife suggested a few pics of her new seahorses. They're tough, especially in a dirty tank. And with flash. And with a bunch of bright white coral behind the dark seahorses reflecting far more light than the seahorses. So I only got one decent shot of a seahorse, but the clownfish were quite willing. (Another tough shot - freaking bright orange with very bright white bands. Ugh.)

But what the heck.

Wish me luck for the morning. I'm not sure that I remember how to use this stuff.

Very nice stuff there. Clowns are very hard to shoot, those bands are impossible not to overexpose. Gotta find and show you my close up of my Cinnamon. Oh, and check out the last line in my sig (blatant plug) :)

edit: Here are my cinnamons, just found some old (not so great) shots :)

Nice images (both of you!!)
I have some Aquarium photos up on my site and of all of the pictures I took that day, THE HARDEST of them all was the darn Sea Horse!! I must have shot a dozen different angles, manual focus, auto focus, with flash and without and I still wasn't able to get one single shot that I was truly happy with. Maybe it was the curved glass tank it was in, but after about 35 minutes I finally gave up and accepted that a Sea Horse had kicked my butt!

yeah, Lisa. Curved glass and Acrinic lighting are the KILLERS of photos. You have an advantage w/saltwater tanks being very well equipped lighting wise, but the actinics LOVE to mess with WB.
I usually turn off mine when I shoot.
