Today I had five photographs displayed at a local art show; this was my first time experiencing an art show, so I found it pretty interesting. Here they are:

Transparent Soul (Honorable Mention):

EDIT:
Changed URL of images. I need to get that domain renewed sometime soon! :P
EDIT#2:
Had to fix the URLs again.

Good job. You have talent, keep at it. The one of the girl is well composed and interesting without make her look like a tart. I admire that. Covering the face and spreading the air gives sensuality - a much better choice than sexuality.

You might try and get the hot spots off her temples, but I like it very much.

Thank you for compliment! Oh, you are not the only one two think this is a woman; you're one of many to think so. :P It's actually a self-portrait of myself (I'm a guy).

Yeah, I was thinking about softening and lowering the contrast of that area up a bit. But me + lazy = horrible. I'll get to it this weekend most likely. I sold some prints over at the show (they aren't printed yet), so I have to get them ready for the people.

I really like all but the last two. Remains just doesn't do anything for me. Good exposure and all just nothing there. The last one hits too close to home. I don't want to be reminded......

BTW - I thought number one was male but the hair wasn't typical of a male.

Nice job, may you sell many and prosper....

What equipment are you using?

johneric8 - Hehe, no girl. It's actually a self-portrait of myself, and I'm a guy. Thanks!

Titus213 - Remains remain to be either a like it or don't type of photograph. It just depends, I assume. I'm sorry the last one hits you so hard. I used my A95. Thank you for your comments

tim - Thanks! I believe, in black and white photography, shadows is what counts. Personally, I love contrasting.

cjm - Yeah, they were some tiny flowers!

gyrob - That's how most people reacted. It makes you look twice.

LOL - Blame me for growing up near San Francisco, but in the first pic the Adam's apple is a dead give away.

Seriously though, I love the opposing forces and containment the hand and hair give to the shot. I might have gone with a narrower border to heighten the tension a bit, but "Wow" anyway.

Haha, yeah, the Adam's apple is definitely a dead give away.

Thanks for your comments!
