Thanks Pekka!

Based on CDS' raving reviews, I downloaded v1.1.1 a few days ago and was impressed by the capability. It looks like I will have to go through the process again. I was disappointed that it didn't handle my old G2 RAW files - so this will be a bonus!

I just downloaded it and although the website says version 1.1.2, the downloaded version is 1.1.3!
Probably they found a bug that immediately needed fixing in version 1.1.2.

Edit: Strange...
The downloaded file is named: RawShooterEssentials2005-113.exe
The install program says version 1.1.2
The About window says version 1.1.2 build 14

I love Rawshooter ... I'm a Big fan, love it to bits.
But one thing that would make it totally perfect, is if it had the individual R G B tone curve adjustments of DPP ....

Unfortunately it still doesn't support 3rd party camera profiles.

The last time I downloaded it took 4 hours to get an email with a link. Now this time, I'm still waiting again, is there not a faster way to get the file or am I missing something?

And still no Mac version.

www.corel.com and go to Software Trials.

I've tried Pixmantec 3 times and I've yet to receive an email.

I just started trying out RAW and after working with the software that Canon provided with the camera, finding it awkward to say the least, I downloaded the Rawshooter Essentials and whatta diffrence!

For me having to blindly select parameters in ZoombrowserEX and watch the image go BLANK for several seconds while the screen to refreshed so I could see what the change looked like didn't work well. Little or no basis for comparison and it took too much time.

But in Rawshooter Essentials you get a large workspace window and SLIDERS for MUCH MORE parameter controls than the Canon software. The control is immediate, awesome, and subltle changes are immediately visible as they happen.

Thanks for the tip guys. I almost gave up on RAW as too much trouble but this is great.

Don't know how I missed this,. it even says it fixes the monitor profile bug.. which I suffer from.

We'll see if it really fixes it :)

... nope.. still doesn't work :(

Why won't they just let us TELL the stupid thing what profile to use?? ??

Yea I know. I never have used the canon software. Trying this software made me shoot raw.

It is a great app!

I'll continue to use it for some things. Generally it does a good job but I find an image with reds or yellows just aren't right. I did some comparative tests with C1 on the same image and C1 was better.

And now we know why it is free:

This year we will be releasing a second RAW workflow product designed to build on the strengths of the FREE software by offering exciting new functionality and advancements for the RAW workflow. This retail product will be priced at a very competitive rate and all registered users of RawShooter essentials 2005 will be offered the opportunity to upgrade at an exclusive introductory rate.

Probably they found a bug that immediately needed fixing in version 1.1.2. Also strange, I've received 2 emails this weekend about 1.1.2 & I've been using 1.1.3 for weeks! Still, I like it more every day.

I have been wanting to shoot raw, but was so affraid it would be to complicated. I have been reading post and came across the rawshooter. I have just downloading and am very much looking forward to using. Thanks so much for all the info. I will keep everyone posted as to what I think of shooting and working with Raw. I know there are lots of mixed reviews out there.

...And now we know why it is free:

That's been on the table since the first release. Not new news. Frankly, I think it's a great way to expose a growing competitive landscape for RAW conversion.

Thanks for the update.....I was still using RSE 1.0...lol. I don't know whether I missed this being asked already, but the email says "trial version"...the version I currently have is the full version, and I got it from pixmantec. Is 1.1.2 a trial version only?

The program is fully functional as it is. There is no time limit/crippled functions. WYSIWYG for ever :)
