I'm thinking about buying a printer for my studio but I'm not clear what printers support the direct print button on my cameras. I'll likely rarely use this feature, but I wouldn't mind playing with it.

Also, what's the best printer out there for faithful color reproduction when printing photos? What do you guys/gals use?

I am going to be getting either a Canon 9000/9500 or an Epson R1900 or R2880. The Canon's have Direct Print, but I don't think the Epson's do.

Are you thinking on-site printing?

I don't plan on doing the on-site printing really. I was thinking that since I'll be adding a photo printer to my new studio I might as well consider one that supports the direct print function. Just to try it out to see what the attraction is... if there is any. :) Canon must think its the cat's meow since they keep including the the thing on their cameras.

Here is PictBridge's list of Compatible devices. http://www.cipa.jp/pictbridge/CertifiedModels/PictBridgeCertifiedModels_E.html

I've only seen it touted in their 1D "mini-vids" but never really used it. I think it would be good for onsite printing, or something like that, but even then I think it's one of those fading technologies.
