So I've posted a few times in the Critique Corner, but I'm sure people are tired of seeing updated pictures of the same dog. I figured I'd move to the pets forums where everyone can appreciate a cute pup!

So, I got the itch to take pictures at 10pm. With no fancy light setup, I improvised with some lamps I had in the house. I also tried playing with storyboards!

Tell me what you think! I'm working hard to get better, using these forums as my only point of critique.

1. Twix on my bed, ready to play

2. Bringing it back! She loves her bear.

3. So I put a treat on my chest, laying down for the shot. She was pretty anxious to eat it... can you tell?

4. And the story board. Playing makes her tired.

Thanks for looking, please don't hesitate to comment. I'm a newbie too, so if you're like me, and look in these threads wondering "how did he do that?!" please ask and I'll let you know. Any success I have as a photographer is from tips I got from these forums.

Ok I will go first
1. To much dead space on the left side
2. Why is this photo here? Its all OOF and there is just nothing there???
3. Nice face shot but the BG is to distracting and needs to go.
4. If its really nap time you should see the dog napping right?

Thanks for commenting! I had forgotten about this thread and happened to check the forums right after you posted.

On number one, I posted because I feel like I have a hundred pictures of Twix cropped close with a cute pose. Apparently I went too far the other way. Happy medium here I come.

The second was more artsy. Obviously I realize she's not in focus and posted anyway. I thought it was fun in its own, imperfect way. Guess not.

3. I agree, thanks for verifying.

4. I find it hard to believe that every time you've heard someone say it's time for a nap they are an instant from, or already asleep. I was hoping the story part of the storyboard would suggest that Twix is yawning because she is tired and would very much like to take a nap. Is it really that far fetched?

No its not I just think the story would have been better if one more shot of the dog asleep would have been a nice touch.

Yeah... but thankfully that's her favorite game. I'll get it right soon and repost :).
