Didn't I post my original on Friday? Did I give the wrong ending date again? I had it in my head it was ending today instead of yesterday. Sorry everyone! I guess I need a vacation! Too bad I don't get spring break off work...

I can declare a winner now, I guess. I'll give this one to John B and his "Negative to Positive". I thought that was a totally cool and creative shot. A little info on that thread would be interesting.

Flo, your Medical Recession was a definite eye-catcher. I do hope that was ketchup. You're the runner up this week.

BASmith, your Stick it to Me was also intriguing in how big that pin head seemed in that macro shot. It looked like a nail! It was definitely the subject of the photo, but the rest seemed a bit cluttered to my eyes.

Monty, you're stack wasn't bad, and I wouldn't call it a "failure" at all. Maybe a little more creative pin placement (eyes, mouth, nose) would have brought up the coolness factor in the photo.

Thanks to everyone who participated this week. Sorry I delayed in posting results since my brain was apparently in its own time warp...

Wow!! I won again (which sucks, cause now I can't post a photo this week  )
Thanks lavanut :)
I started by taking approximately 13 different colored sewing threads and twisting them together like a rope. Next I took a black magic marker and made the threads all black on half the length. I spent a good amount of time getting them through the needle (the hardest part of the shoot) and then spread the part that wasn't colored by the marker. With the flash set on manual and attached via off shoe cord, I aimed the flash at an angle to keep background dark and colors bright.
Finally I pressed the shutter button

monty28428,
I really liked your photo, as those pins were sharp!

Flo,
Do you need a doctor? ???
Thank goodness (or thank you) that its ketchup

BASmith,
Good thing you didn't have to dig just a particular one out ;)

Ok for this weeks macro topic, I am thinking about trying something new. The idea for the topic will be....... Open Macro
With the topic of Open Macro you can post a macro photo of anything you want! I will judge on inventiveness and photo quality
Sound Good? ???
Let me know before I start it up :)

Well, sounds like I have NO EXCUSE this week!!

What happened to you this week? I was hoping you'd throw one out for us! You're due!

Flo, thanks for the jog on the post to kick start my brain. I guess I was a little lost. It's been an odd week here. I'm glad I snuck a check on the forum earlier at work today. I posted in between tasks on a couple of projects. Multitasking is a necessity in today's world!

John, sounds like you put lots of work into that shot with that thread. I hope you used a larger headed needle. I'm at the stage where trying to thread one thread through is getting awfully hard without glasses and patience. I might go a little wiggy trying to thread that many through.

I enjoyed all your shots this week... Looking forward to seeing what appears next week on John's challenge!
