I went with my father as he brought some of his things to the British Antique Roadshow in Edmonton, Alberta and I photographed his adventure.

Here he is with his very old Mermaid Serving set he got from my grandma who got them in London during WWII. These were something the appraiser has never seen before and he specializes in that sort of thing.

And here he is getting his Elk in the Glen appraised.

Well? We're all waiting. What were they worth?

I'm not at all sure the "expert" appraiser in the images is really that clever,..

I mean,. he doesn't seem to know which way is UP!

The Serving set is worth $600 to $1000 CAD in Canada but if sold in England where much more collectors are they'd be worth that in British Pounds. Which is basically twice what they are worth here in Canada.

The painting on the other hand, apparently isnt done by the same artist that painted the real glen. However the guy there was too dismissive and sort of illogical because how could it be a inspired copy when it was basically painted at the same time? Value given? $80 to $150 (and he probably said that because that is what the frame is worth)

Funniest Antique I saw was an antique digital camera being used by the appraiser, it was one where you inserted disketts into. Now that was an oldie. LOL It must have been at least 8 years, which if in Antique terms would put it in the Victorian era?

The Antique Road Show is one of the very few TV shows that I will actually watch for more than five minutes. It's fascinating! I would like to have seen some better shots of the objects, but that's not really the point of your pictures. You caught and preserved the event and did a great job of it. :)
