I know , I know ...... It's been shot many times ( apologies to UK members ) but this is the first time by me.
It's not the first time I've been up Helvellyn, just the first time with good visibility.
For me, Striding Edge makes Helvellyn. Although there is nothing difficult or dangerous about it ( my wife did find the "bad step" a bit tricky ) it's still a stunning view looking back from the slopes of Helvellyn.

It's a first for me too, Cameron.
Stunning view, and very well captured. Colors seem realy natural.
Must be great to be up there.

My old stomping ground this. And even though I've seen it (with my own eyes) maybe a hundred times, this is still a really nice shot.
No, it isn't difficult but can be dangerous. Middle of winter, everything coated with ice and the wind doing 60 knots, then you get a bit twitchy. :)
Cheers
Ian

Jaime, thanks for the kind words.
It was great to be up in clear weather, although it was still a bit cold.
I try to do a different hill on each trip to the area, but decided to do Helvellyn again because of Striding Edge.

Thanks Ian.
Yeh, your right. I should have added "not difficult or dangerous in good weather".
Glad you like the pic. :)

I was there 2 years ago with my fiancee. The weather was fine on the way up but the cloud came in just before we reached the top. Couldn't see a thing! At least now I know what the view should have looked like :D
Thanks for sharing this one :)

Is that a person in the middle of the pic?

There are 3, maybe 4, people in the center and 2 people ( one in yellow ) towards the front.

Cheers John.
As for Arran, it didn't go.:(
It was pencilled in for Monday morning. The other guy had a 40th birthday party to go to on Saturday night.
He was still there on Sunday night.
Must have been a good party.
Will be there this month, sometime, for sure.
