Question...about the 350D

A friend of mine, claims that the 300D has less noise than the 350D.
Is this possible? He says, that he saw it on a dpreview review... I mean... All those new sensors and stuff... Are they just a marketing trick? Personally I don't think so. But I do not have neither the 300D nor the 350D to make a comparsion. So.. Could you help me out?

From what I have seen & read, the 350D is more on a par with the 20D in terms of noise levels ie. a little bit better than the 300D. However this is probably only noticeable once you get up into the ISO800 & 1600 levels. I find the ISO1600 on the 300D perfectly useable as long as the image is well exposed, and of course there is always the option of running any image through noise reduction software.
