I think I only have one bird. And it's a Robin. I get to shoot this guy--over and over
At least you get to practice alot--he stands still much of the time. ;)

Ditto... very nice! Please forgive this naive question, but I'm a newbie. To get to the robin's eye level for this picture, did you have to literally lay on the ground? I can't think of another way to focus these low shots, but at age 60 it's getting kind of hard to get back up! Maybe I'm missing something?

Karen,
No--I think I was standing for this shot. I remember following him around as he was pulling up worms.
I was using the 100-400L at 400mm. I guess I must have been back far enough--and not looking down on him.
BTW--I had to PS his left leg in--as there was a very distracting blade of grass there.
I think I could get rid of some of those other grasses behind him too.
