Seagulls, maybe next time?

I took a few shots of these seagulls being fed and wonder if anyone can give me some pointers for next time to get a better picture then this of seagulls fighting over food? Any Critiques please let me know.

Just to clarify, are you looking for a "better" way to get them fighting or looking for seagull ideas in general? I like the shot. One thing I instantly think of in association with seagulls is the sea. Your shot is a reminder that they are on land too!

Here is a shot, that I took last summer (it's un-cropped etc...just a quick upload). I like it because you have to guess what he is thinking, looking at "the sea".

Just wondering if a tripod might work for it? Would motion be a turn on or turn off? Lately I have noticed many of my bird photos suck so I must be doing something wrong with the tools I got.
